Post 6: An Expert in my field 

Inoue Takehiko is a famous manga illustrator (Japanese comics) Creator of some of the most recognized manga in the industry. Among them is Slam Dunk, his most recognized work, selling 140 million copies with its 31 volumes. His talent and desire to innovate have made him a benchmark for future generations.

 

“Challenge yourself with something that goes far beyond your abilities”

Inoue's drawing is mainly characterized by giving life to his characters. To the point of perceiving them as real people. The technique he uses to achieve his magic consists of connecting with the emotion he wants to express. Transmitting those sensations to the hearts of their readers.

“One way or another, you write about yourself when you make a story. If you're not tapping into a topic, you can't write about it. As a consequence, all you can do is extract the wisdom, beliefs, and truths that reside within you."

Despite this, it is a double-edged sword. Because his emotions are reflected in his art and when they don't connect he can't continue working, since it would result in something mediocre.

"I don't like losing. My skill can improve, but I will never allow myself to fall back on the same thing."

He is currently working on his project called Vagabond, inspired by the story of Japan's most famous warrior, Musashi Miyamoto. Exploring through his narrative the twisted side of human nature and how life should be lived. However, it is on an indefinite hiatus, because he can't connect his emotions with the manga.
